Remember when you were a kid and you got that new toy? And you couldn’t put it down for a week? Getting a new planner is the adult version of that new toy for me. And today is Christmas in July! So how do you get started with a Happy Planner? The obvious answer to that is you need to pick the Happy Planner for you.

Where To Start

There are are lots of different options with the Happy Planner. It is important you take some time and examine the different ones. Ultimately if you don’t like it you won’t use it. You also need to examine your motivation for buying the planner. What do you want to be able to do with it? This will play an important part in what you need in your planner.

The Big Happy Planner

There are three different sizes. The Big Happy Planner, the Classic (my personal choice) and the mini sized. The Big Happy Planner pages measures 8.5 inches x 11 inches with a 9.75 inches x 11.5 inches cover. This size offers extra room for journaling, detailed planning or simply more space if you have that pretty bubbly writing the Big Happy Planner is the one for you. Check out some of the available themes Amazon has to offer by clicking on the pictures below.

The Classic Happy Planner

The Classic Happy Planner the middle of the road when it comes to size. The cover measures 7.75 inches x 9.75 inches and the pages are 7 inches x 9.25 inches. This size is smaller but it still offers room for detailed planning, note taking, budgeting and more. The smaller size however makes it more convenient to carry. Check out some of the available themes Amazon has to offer by clicking on the pictures below.

The Mini Happy Planner

The Mini Happy Planner is just that the mini version of this great product. With a cover measuring 5.125 inches x 7.5 inches and pages 4.5 inches x 7 inches it is the perfect size to go anywhere with you. With the same great monthly and weekly views as the other two options this more condensed version is the best choice if you just want to keep it simple. Once again you can check out some of the available themes in this size at Amazon has to offer by clicking on the pictures below.

Where Can I Buy a 365 Happy Planner?

Each size comes in a variety of different themes and layouts. Remember you going to have this planner for 12 to 18 months so you want one you’re going to like! Once you decided on the planner that is right for you the next step a course is to buy it. You can order your Happy Planner on Amazon or you can pick it up in person at your local Walmart or craft store such as AC Moore, Hobby Lobby, Jo-Ann, or Michaels . Well Happy Planning to you!

Waffles To The Rescue

Meal planning is one of the most important things to keeping my busy week flowing smoothly. From my morning breakfast stop to coming home from work and getting started on dinner right away planning is key. So what happens when planning fails? When that meat in the fridge has a funny smell? When there is a change in schedule? Or as was the case last night for me, you ended up with two extra kids to feed right before going grocery shopping? Well then a backup plan is necessary.

So what do I pull out of my magic hat when a backup plan is necessary? Waffles! I love breakfast foods but waffles are quick and easy. My favorite part is the left overs can be thrown in the freeze for an even quicker backup plan next time or breakfast during the week. They require little planning as I always keep the ingredients in the house and the topping options are extensive.

My favorite recipe is a hand me down from my mom. The best part it is, come to find out, it is straight from the Bisquick box so I can always find it quick! Preparing is easy mix two cups Bisquick, 1 1/3 cup milk, 2 tablespoons oil and one egg until batter is blended. Pour onto your waffle maker and cook about 5 minutes until golden brown. You can also mix fresh fruit or chocolate ships into the batter. Server warm with your favorite toppings.

  • 2 c. Bisquick Mix
  • 1 1/3 c. Milk
  • 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Egg

The How To

  1. Stir ingredients until blended
  2. Pour onto center of hot greased waffle maker; close lid
  3. Bake about 5 minutes or until steam stops and waffle is golden brown
  4. Carefully remove waffle
  5. Sever warm with favorite toppings

Makes approximately 12 (4-inch) or 5 (6-inch) waffles

The Planner I Always Carry

Life is crazy and when you’re a busy mom it’s even crazier. To bring a little organization to the chaos I always have my planner with me. It’s my road map, my financial adviser, my cheerleader, my health coach, my therapist, my journal and so much more. I always have my planner with me so it can tell me (literally sometimes!) if I’m coming or going.

The Yearly Years

I have used many different planners over the years. I’ve found planners are like shoes. The come in every style, color, size, etc imaginable. One of the first planners I started with in high school was the Mead Weekly and Monthly. This planner offers a monthly section and weekly. The month view offers a great over view and the weekly an area for more detailed planning. Its a nice size for appointment notes, assignments and budgeting but not to bulky to carry with you.

Growing Up

At this point in my life though, as I said my planner is more than just a planner. As I grew up so did my needs in a planner, I needed one that could be more than a planner.I tried many different brands over the years and then I was introduced to the Happy Planner from Me & My Big Ideas and it was love at first planning.

I loved the idea of my Happy Planner from the beginning because it offered me so many different ways to customize it. The designing filled a creative need that I hadn’t been able to fulfill since giving up on organized scrap booking. There was room for all my lists. (My lists always make me feel like I’m more on top of everything!). The unique disc bound system allowed for me to be able to seamlessly add and removed weeks and months as time progressed. The best part was when one design aspect became boring (it was the cover first, see my self created one) a redesign can re-energize. I could just redesign without having to start over from scratch.

After three years I’m still going strong with my planner and I see our journey continuing for years to come. Check out some of the great designs below.
