Happy Planner Accessories That Are A Must Have

Happy New Year’s! With a new year just a few hours away it’s time to make some New Year’s resolutions. Mine? Lose weight, drink more water stay more on top of my housework, and be more organized. I’ll admit I’ve been slipping lately. Maybe you’re like me and you’re ready to start the year with a new planner. Have you picked your new planner? Top 5 Accessories for All Sizes

Pens & Highlighters

The first, obvious and most basic supplies are pens and highlighters. Color coordinating different aspects of your planner allows for an easy distinguishing of different aspects within your planner. The different colors also make for their own decoration. I have two types of pens I use in my planner. I use the Pentel Energel Liquid Gel pens, which you can check out here on amazon, for writing and making notes. And I use Paper Mate’s flair felt tip pens, like these here, for more coloring and doodling. Lastly, for highlighters, I always go with these sharpie pocket style highlighters with smear guard.

Pen Holder

If you are going to have pens, markers, and highlighters for your planner obviously you’ll need some please to store them. Personally, I opt for recycling an old ipsy gift pouch. (Not an ipsy subscriber? Or never heard of it? If you love makeup check it out here and get a free gift on me!) If you don’t have a zip pouch or want something more connected to your planner these cute little Adhesive Holders are what you want! These can be applied to the cover of your planner. A course the only downside is they only hold one pen each. They also make a snap-in accessory pouch such as this one. It would be great to also keep other accessories in.

Washi Tape & Stickers

Next on the list is defiantly the funnest and most colorful is the washi tape and stickers. These days washi tape and stickers can be bought in any color or theme imaginable. You can pick them up at the dollar store, Walmart, your local craft supply store or order them online. Here is the Leebee solid colored washi tape set I have personally. The create 365 also has types of sticker packs. These packs offer everything from seasonal accents like these here, fitness-themed like these, happy and positive quotes like these and so many more. These are definitely Happy Planner accessories you won’t want to skip.

The Happy Planner Paper Punch

Number four on my list of must haves Happy Planner accessories is the Happy Planner Hole Punch. I was a little hesitant at first to spend the money on this but I use it all of the time. I use it constantly to add additional pages to my planner. Plus I’ve also used it to make new covers for my planner, dividers, folders, and note sheets. Create 365 currently offers two different sizes of punch, the classic and the big. The Classic comes in a light blue. The big punch comes in pink, black, and white.

Folders & Envelopes

My final must have for your happy planner is a folder or envelope. These additions are great for holding extras that may not be something that you want to punch add to your planner. I personally use mine to hold bills as they come in until it is time to pay them. I also use it to hold pictures, postcards, stamps, stickers, and stencils. Extension Packs

Extension packs can be used for a number of reasons and can be used to meet a variety of specific means. There are extension packs that can be used to add additional months and weeks to your planner. Budget, fitness, and wellness, holiday planning, and wedding planning extensions can also be bought. There is also a home extension pack to help you with your grocery list, chores, meal planning, and home organization and management tasks. Other types of extensions are being added all the time or can be found on Etsy.

Dividers or Tabs

Didn’t find the extension you needed or wanted? Etsy is full of additional designs. Or take chance and try designing your own. Then you can use blank dividers or tabs to designate your new extension section. When I was one of the school’s PTO officers I had a tab for the PTO. I kept blank pages and a separate folder in this section. This allowed me to keep all my notes and flyers there so they were easy to access. I also have a divider and separate section that works as an address book and password keeper.

Other Fun Accessories

There are tons of other fun accessories out there. The list includes paperclips, binder clips, rubber stamps, magnetic clips, sticky notes, elastic bands just to name a few. A couple of my other favorites I feel worth mentioning are the expansion disks. These disks can be used to expand your happy planner’s size. The second one is the weekday punch. The punch cuts paper or cardstock to 1.5 inches by 2.4 inches. This allows for some creative accents to be added. The accessory I want to mention is new and custom covers.
